The small print
Terms
What this website is, what it is not, and what nothing on it may be relied on for.
Nobody is at the other end of this. This is a demonstration website. Woodside Memorial Funeral Home is not a real funeral home, nobody answers the telephone number on this site, and no arrangement made here reaches anybody. If someone has died and you need a funeral director, please call a real one in your area.
There is no business here
Woodside Memorial Funeral Home, LLC is a fictional company. It was invented for this demonstration, it has never been formed, it has never traded, it has never had anybody in its care and it holds nothing. The address is not its address, the telephone number is a placeholder that nobody answers, and the people described on this site do not exist. Every photograph was generated rather than taken, which has its own page.
No service is offered or supplied through this site
Nothing here is an offer, a quotation or an agreement. In particular, nothing on this website:
- arranges a funeral, reserves a date or instructs anybody to do anything;
- creates an obligation on the part of any person or company, in either direction;
- records a wish, an authority or an instruction that anybody will ever act on;
- reaches a person — there is no form to submit and no message goes anywhere.
Nothing here is advice
Nothing on this site is legal advice, financial advice, tax advice or medical advice, and nothing on it is a substitute for the person whose job that is. The pages about grief in particular are a description of what commonly happens rather than a clinical opinion about anybody, and the pages about paying for a funeral describe categories rather than recommending anything.
The general information, and how it ages
The material about consumer rights, entitlements, benefits, veterans' honours, certificates and who may decide is written to be true in general terms in the United States, and it is written to be useful rather than exhaustive. It is not specific to your case, your family, your state or your date, and general is doing real work in that sentence: an entitlement can turn on a detail this site has no way of knowing about you.
Practice changes as well. Rules are amended, agencies are reorganised, forms are renumbered, amounts are revised, and a page written on one date is a photograph of that date. Nothing here is monitored for changes, because there is nobody monitoring it. Check anything that matters with a funeral director, an attorney, or the agency itself.
The photographs, the names and the numbers
Every room, every exterior and every portrait on this site was generated. The people in the six staff portraits are not photographs of anybody and the biographies under them are invented. No sample notice on this site is about a person: the name and the dates are shown as dashes on purpose, and there is no obituary here for anybody.
If somebody has died
Then this site is not what you need, and that is the only sentence on this page that matters. Call a real funeral director in your area, at any hour of the night. They expect the call at that hour, they will not mind, and nothing has to be decided on it.
- Privacy — what this site collects, which is nothing, and what a real one would have to say.
- Policies — the standing commitments the demonstration is built around.
- How these pictures were made — every rule the imagery was made under.
If you are looking at this to decide what to buy
The demonstration is the point: this is what a small business gets for a fixed price, written and built the way a real one would be.
